Drama therapy is an active, experiential method founded in theatre to help people heal. Instead of traditional talk therapy, we may use imagery, metaphor, sensation, masks, drawing, role-play, performance, improv, and acting to explore your emotions and internal psyche. Drama therapy has the power of deepening your healing work by moving out of the cognitive realm and into your body. We can also utilize drama therapy to practice real life situations you are struggling with.
With a trained therapist, we will move at the speed of trust and willingness. If that sounds interesting to you, feel free to ask me more about it!
Nope! Drama therapy is a method that can be utilized with anyone. Drama therapy has been used with many different age groups, populations, and communities. It is great for actors and non-actors. As long as you have a desire to learn, you can do drama therapy.

I attended California institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) for a Master's in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy. Previously, I was trained in Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) and have led workshops in TO for community groups to address oppression and trauma. Since then, I have led many drama therapy groups for college students, activists, and community members.
I taught a summer course at CIIS called Drama Therapy and Social Change in July 2023.
I am training in Developmental Transformation (DvT), an improvised, fluid form of drama therapy, and am working towards becoming certified.
